Dance Weekend 2012 - Mambo Madness : City Dance Corps along with 10 peice band, Conjunto Lacalu, are going to take you back in time to the 50s when Latin music was just emerging in popular culture at a famous club in New York called The Palladium. The Palladium opened its doors to Puerto Ricans and other ethnic groups once a week to help pay the bills. From that Sunday afternoon, the legends of Mambo were born, including Tito Puente and Machito. The Mambo dance was also born and formed into what influenced the popular Salsa we dance today. The style was sharp, classy and full of intricate body movements. Only the best dressed and best trained were allowed into the club, making it one of the classiest places to dance and the mecca of Mambo dance in North America. City Dance Corps and Conjunto Lacalu, bring you back to a night at the Palladium with “Mambo Madness”.

A clash of styles hits the streets when dancers from opposite sides of town find themselves intrigued by an unfamiliar form of expression. From Hip Hop to Argentine Tango, you will be treated a acting-dancing extravaganza.
